Keeping our family in-tact can sometimes feel overwhelming. Worry about the future, discontent or divorce between parents, societal pressures, technology that changes the way we interact (social media, gaming, texting) and even a lack of self-worth (losing a sense of self) are all pressures that can affect the family. There’s a lot going on in our daily lives. So how can we, as family members and parents, nurture the family dynamic to withstand the tough days?
Communicate.
Everyone needs non-violent caring communication that is age appropriate, including eye contact and appropriate touching (hugs, kisses, feet rubbing, holding hands, etc.).
And don’t forget the most important 8 words in our vocabulary: please, thank you, I love you, I’m sorry. Tone of voice is everything! What we say and how we say it matters.

It may seem simple, but some of the best solutions are. Granted, there are instances when a family may need more help to get through some tough times, but honest communication to show how much we care about each other makes us stronger as a unit. And a strong family unit has a much better chance of weathering any storms.
